a collaboration with poet and filmmaker Nadia Bongo.
Through motifs and fiction, the video weaves together vacant places from cities on three different continents (Africa, Europe, America). Among the vegetation, these spaces harbor lingering feelings (nostalgia, longing) and imagination. Cindy and Nadia invite the viewer to experience these emotions and reimagine their relation with external and internal “vacancies”.

Screenings
The collaboration debuted in the exhibition ‘Vacancies’ curated by Sean K Irwin at Globe Dye Works in Philadelphia in 2025.
We later shared it during a collaborative workshop at The Denny Farrell Greenhouse and Education Center in Harlem – where we first met.
This October 2026 it will screen in Copenhagen at the NATURE & CULTURE: International Poetry Film Festival produced by the Poetic Phonoteque
In November, it will screen with FOTOGENIA 8º, INTERNATIONAL CINEPOETRY AND DIVERGENT NARRATIVES FESTIVAL in Mexico City from November 19th to 29th
